Lots of great news today–some old, some new.

The new–Bumpa’s Little Sweetie welcomed her baby brother, Kaden, into the family yesterday.

The old–Alexa’s last MRI came back clear and showed a reduction of fluid. She is doing great, with growth and development all well within normal ranges. Normal for an exceptionally special little girl, that is. :^)

Alexa Is Home!!!

Please forgive my tardiness in informing you all that Alexa came home from Primary Children’s Hospital in SLC on Tuesday.

She is doing well, but is supposed to take it easy for the next two weeks. Wish us luck for that. She seems to have most of her energy and feistiness back.

They decided she didn’t need another MRI after all due to her improvement. Since the lab results of the spinal tap that caused all this came back negative, they also decided to refrain from future spinal taps. Of course she will, however, continue to have MRIs taken on a quarterly basis for at least another year or so.

Alexa enjoys some fun and games with a Get Well balloon and takes a little walk. Still having some pain, but she had a peacfeul night’s sleep. That MRI is coming up on Monday morning now.

Alexa is out of surgery. Doc just went in with a needle and found clear fluid. Hoping that means it is just leak that will self repair. Scan later this morning will tell us more.
